I uploaded a tarball of jp2 files for http://www.archive.org/details/Aleppo_Codex. The PDF and DjVu files were created correctly, but when I try to view the pages with the online viewer, the images do not load. Instead, there is this error message:

Error serving request:
Image error: Unsupported image type for file Aleppo_Codex_jp2/Aleppo_Codex_0000.jp2 in /0/items/Aleppo_Codex/Aleppo_Codex_jp2.tar

Debugging information:

#1 /var/www/BookReader/BookReaderImages.inc.php(557): BookReaderImages->getImageInfoFromExif('/0/items/Aleppo...', 'Aleppo_Codex_jp...')

unless you actually scanned jp2 images you should just upload _images.zip file (not a tar.) The system will derive the proper jp2s from it.

Yes, however the zip file is over 2GB, and I believe that the system cannot handle zip files that big, but I could be wrong.

it's not the system, it's the http browsers. You can use Edit item > change the files and use the non-flash upload option and load files larger than 2GB.
